2007 is nearly in the books and it's been a great year!
The WI Tour flourished, both Am and Pro Worlds ran successfully, and we have more courses than ever before. What's in store for 2008?
A few things that come to mind include:
It cannot be said enough times. Both the Am and Pro Worlds would like to thank everyone for helping or participating in this year's World Championships. Nearly 900 competitors attended the two events and Wisconsin was able to showcase and highlight great courses, unbelievable organization, and awesome hospitality. We are headed in the right direction so get on board with any and all Wisconsin Disc Sports!
2006 was a great year for course development, tournaments, and membership growth. Wisconsin continues to top the charts in many categories including top 5 in the country for number of courses, top 5 in PDGA sanctioned tournaments, and one of the most established State tours. Plans for 2007 are already in the works so please contact your local club if you have input or contact your PDGA State Coordinator, Terry Miller if you have any questions or input.
If you haven't heard already, Wisconsin is host to both the Amateur and Professional Disc Golf World Championships in 2007. During the last week of July, Terry Miller and the Great Lakes Disc Golf Club are expecting over 500 participants from all over the world to invade brand new Milwaukee County Disc Golf Courses. The very next week many will trek up to Northern Wisconsin to Highbridge Hills Sports Complex where the Professional World Champions will be crowned. Can Wisconsin's own Barry Schultz take his third title? Stay tuned because Wisconsin is where you want to be next year!
